Pengerang Municipal Council (MPP) is planning to submit its Smart City Action Plan 2030 to the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT) next month.
MPP president Fizwan Mohd Rashidi said the council recently conducted a visit to the Smart Selangor Delivery Unit to learn from the implementation of smart initiatives in the state.
“We are currently in the final phase of developing the Smart City Action Plan 2030.
“The research period was from July 2021 to July this year with an allocation of RM1mil from KPKT,” he said.
Fizwan added that they had gained valuable ideas on turning Pengerang into a smart city during the visit to Selangor.
The delegation also visited PJ Eco Recycling Plaza under Petaling Jaya City Council to learn about its low-carbon city initiatives.
“We also visited the Kuala Lumpur Command and Control Centre under Kuala Lumpur City Hall to view the management of a smart city, including traffic routes,” he said.
Another stop was Huawei Customer Solution and Innovation Centre to learn about appropriate technology that can be introduced in Pengerang. — By REMAR NORDIN
