Over 2,000 college students finally get their scrolls

After a two-year delay because of the Covid-19 pandemic, MSU Group of Colleges (MSUC) awarded scrolls to 2,014 graduates at its 24th graduation ceremony.

The three-session ceremony was held at MSU’s Chancellor Hall in Shah Alam, Selangor, and in accordance with Covid-19 standard operating procedures.

The scrolls were presented by MSUC president Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.

Also in attendance were MSU vice-chancellor Prof Puan Sri Datuk Dr Junainah Abd Hamid as well as senior management of MSUC and MSU.

From the total mentioned, 1,447 graduates were diploma level and 567 at the certificate level.

The largest number of graduates were from the Certificate in Management (325 graduates) programme, followed by Diploma in Management (315) and Diploma in Culinary Arts (300).

Two programmes presented their first batch of graduates – the Spa and Beauty Management Certificate as well as the Pastry, Bakery and Confectionery Certificate.

Meanwhile, four categories of special awards of excellence were also awarded to 18 recipients from the graduating class of 2022.

The graduates are Aina Yusrina Abdullah (Diploma in Accounting) for the President’s Gold Award and Ken O’Neill Clarance (Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering) for the Mohd Shukri Yajid Award.

Thirteen graduates received the Academic Award – Nur Fazilah Haja Alaudeen (Diploma in Accounting), Nur Syahmina Izzatie Japri (Diploma in Management), Nuraida Samirra Muhamad Marzukee (Diploma in Culinary Arts), Wayne Healy Young (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology), Vanessa Saran Lingam (Diploma in Teaching), Muhammad Shaziman Haja Mohaideen (Diploma in Information Technology), Kavindharan Suresh (Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management), Rohana Sudin (Diploma in Hotel Management), Thong Chun Hean (Certificate in Computer Science), Aliff Akhmal Saharuddin (Certificate in Health Science), Nurhamizah Muhammad (Certificate in Early Childhood Education), Chan Khuai Man (Certificate in Digital Photography) and Bawuttran Ratna Kumar (Certificate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering).

Recipients of the Industry Award were Siti Nurhazlinda Suradi (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology – MSU Medical Centre), Edinlyn George (Diploma in Hotel Management – Affin Islamic Bank Bhd) and Noralia Natasha Shamsol Bahrim (Diploma in Management – United U-Li (M) Sdn Bhd).

The graduation ceremony also involved 54 Diploma in Hotel Management graduates who are members of the Royal Malaysian Navy based in Lumut, Perak.
