Traders fined RM500 for slaughtering chicken in market


MPS caught someone dumping a mattress at an illegal dumpsite at Taman Raintree, Batu Caves through CCTV recording.

FOUR poultry sellers at Pasar Harian Taman Desa Jaya in Kepong were issued compounds and had their licence revoked for slaughtering chicken on market premises.Selayang Municipal Council (MPS), in imposing a RM500 compound for the offence, said the act posed a health concern for visitors.

MPS officers learned that the traders were discarding the poultry’s blood, feathers and entrails into the drain where they cut the birds.
