DBKL: We did not put up notice at Bukit Kerinchi park that went viral

A NOTICE in mangled English at Taman Rimba Bukit Kerinchi, Jalan Pantai Dalam was not put up by local authorities but a security company, says Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).

The notice on Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP) had gone viral for its bad grammar, and was attributed to DBKL, which manages the park.

However, DBKL clarified that the sign was posted by the security company at the park and has since been removed.

“Our officers took swift action by removing the notice pasted by the security company in Taman Rimba Kerinchi regarding the inaccurate SOP. The company was reprimanded by DBKL.Visitors are advised to always adhere to the SOP set by the National Security Council,” it said in a statement on Monday (Sept 6).

It is understood that the notice intended to instruct visitors to not ask security personnel about their vaccination status.

It read: "Attention to all visitors, please do not ask us about the vaccine, as we have been vaccinated twice. The public does not have the right to ask such questions unless they are wearing uniforms (authorities). Thank you for your cooperation."

An actual notice posted by DBKL stated that the children's playground at Taman Rimba Bukit Kerinchi was closed to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
