Kuala Lumpur public parks to reopen to the fully vaccinated

PETALING JAYA: All public parks under the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) have reopened but only those who have completed their Covid-19 vaccination will be allowed to enter.

In an infographic shared on its official Facebook page on Tuesday (Aug 24), DBKL said such individuals could also bring their children who were under 17.

A spokesperson told StarMetro that the security guards at the park entrances would require visitors to show their proof of vaccination before entering.

The majority of these parks would open daily from 6.30am to 7pm, although Taman Metropolitan Kepong in Kepong would open from 6am.

The infographic added that only individual exercise activities were allowed with a minimum one metre physical distancing, while group activities were banned.

All facilities, with the exceptions of the toilets, would remain off limits.

"Visitors must record their attendance via the MySejahtera app or the log book, in addition to having their temperature taken,” the infographic read.

"Those exhibiting symptoms such as fever, cough and flu are not allowed.

"Physical contacts are strictly prohibited, and visitors are encouraged to bring their hand sanitiser," it said further.

An individual was considered fully vaccinated 14 days after receiving the second dose of either the Pfizer, AstraZeneca or Sinovac vaccines, or 28 days after a single-dose Johnson & Johnson or CanSino vaccines.
