STARTING tomorrow until Aug 31, roadside parking in Kuala Lumpur will be free of charge.
Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa who tweeted the good news said that the public do not have to pay for parking and that he hoped the people would use the savings to buy things for the family.
“Consumers don’t have to pay for anything and it is hoped that the savings can be used for things needed for the family,’’ he tweeted.
There were about 46,100 street parking bays in Kuala Lumpur.
However, the news took DBKL officers by surprise as they were not aware of the matter.
“I guess you just have to wait for the ministry to provide the details on that,’’ added an officer who did not wish to be named.
