Ramadan bazaar traders to get RM500 cash aid in Selangor

PETALING JAYA: Each Ramadan bazaar trader in six districts that were placed under the movement control order earlier this month in Selangor will receive a cash aid of RM500.

This involves traders in three cities - Shah Alam, Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya - and six municipalities namely Klang, Ampang Jaya, Selayang, Kajang, Sepang and Kuala Langat.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the initiative will run until June 30 and is open to all traders who are registered with their respective local authorities.

"Each trader only qualifies to receive the aid once even though he or she had multiple trading lots or permits from different councils.

"The aid will be disbursed via the traders' bank account within 14 working days from the date of application,” he said in a statement.

Applicants should visit www.selangorprihatin.com and key in their MyKad number to check if they qualify for the aid.

Qualified applicants would need to key in their bank account, licence and permit details.

They are advised to contact their respective local authorities for details about their licence and permit.

Those who had been declared bankrupt should call the 24-hour Selcare hotline at 1-800-22-6600 or email penjaja@selangor.gov.my for help.

Those without a valid bank account should also contact Selcare.
