BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Building on the success of last year’s bazaar, more than 42 local Micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) offering a variety of food, beverages and products are participating in Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam Berhad (BIBD) Ramadan Eco-Bazaar currently taking place at Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas (TMJE).

This year’s BIBD Ramadan Eco Bazaar is also held in conjunction with the 42nd National Day celebration and was officiated on Thursday (Feb 26) by Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Setia Awang Ahmaddin Abdul Rahman, who is also the chairman of BIBD.

The BIBD Ramadan Eco-Bazaar, located at BIBD Connects Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas in a welcoming riverside setting will run from Feb 26 to March 15.

The BIBD Ramadan Eco-Bazaar feature a range of local delicacies as well as the warm and community atmosphere at BIBD Connects, where families and friends can gather for sungkai bedudun outdoors while enjoying the scenic surroundings of Taman Mahkota Jubli Emas.

The bazaar offers a space for the people to sungkai together in the spirit of Ramadan, bringing back nostalgic moments of sharing meals, and creating new memories with loved ones in a relaxed and healing atmosphere.

The bazaar promotes cashless transactions, reflecting BIBD’s vision of a digital economy and supporting financial inclusion by introducing customers and merchants to accessible digital payment tools.

By encouraging the use of digital payments, BIBD aims to make transactions more convenient and secure for both vendors and customers.

In line with BIBD’s sustainability goals, the Ramadhan Eco-Bazaar also aims to raise awareness of eco-friendly practices.

The public are encouraged to bring their own reusables and ‘ringkat’ to support the initiative’s sustainable approach.

Vendors are also encouraged to reduce waste, use sustainable packaging, and offer environmentally conscious products, reinforcing BIBD’s commitment to responsible business practices. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
