The hampers distributed nationwide contained provisions such as rice and cooking oil.

AMBANK Group reached out to poor families nationwide through the contribution of food hampers worth a total of RM75,000.

The initiative was the first collaboration with Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) and part of Ambank’s corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at uplifting underserved communities.

Ambank group chief executive officer Datuk Sulaiman Mohd Tahir said, “We are glad to have extended a helping hand to the less fortunate and we hope this will bring cheer to them in the month of Syawal.“This is also a timely initiative as the country is still fighting the Covid-19 pandemic, ” he added.

Each hamper contained daily necessities such as rice, cooking oil and canned food.

The food hampers benefitted 500 families with a monthly income of less than RM600.

The distribution was handled by representatives from AIM nationwide with adherence to the Covid-19 standard operating procedure.
