RESIDENTS of Taman Bukit Kuchai in Puchong and the surrounding areas are irate over shoddy road repaving works along Jalan Kinrara 4.

They claim that contractors had repaved a 300m stretch of the road after a pipe-laying project, but the road started to sink less than a month later.

Subang MCA chairman Lawrence Chiew, who was notified of the problem by residents, said an accident was waiting to happen if the problem is not rectified soon.

“Contractors carried out the underground pipe installation works between December last year and mid-February this year.

“Although the road was resurfaced, it started to become uneven about two weeks ago, ” he said.

Chiew added that the particular road was always busy as it connects to the Puchong-Bukit Jalil Highway and there were several schools nearby.

“Traffic has to slow down at the affected stretch causing a build-up, ” he said, adding that it could also damage vehicles.

He urged the Subang Jaya City Council to take stern action against the contractors and repair the road.
