Gamuda Land has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with 3Q Equestrian for the establishment of a horse-riding attraction at Gamuda Gardens, a strategic partnership complementing its existing Xploria placemaking.
Gamuda Land chief executive officer Ngan Chee Meng said the partnership reaffirmed Gamuda Land’s forward-thinking commitment to placemaking in its developments, ensuring a thoughtful mix of residential, commercial and recreational components to build thriving and connected communities.
He said through this collaboration, “we are anticipating and addressing growing outdoor activities as Malaysia emerges from months of nationwide lockdowns.”
“Moving from the Covid-19 pandemic to the issuance of vaccine (since most have been indoors), there is more appreciation towards nature and outdoor activities such as horseback riding, ” he said at the signing ceremony at Gamuda Gardens in Kuang, Rawang.
The MOU was signed by Ngan on behalf of Gamuda Land and 3Q Equestrian director Qabil Ambak who represented the company.
The event was witnessed by Gamuda Land chief operating officer Aw Sei Cheh, Gamuda Gardens general manager Chu Wai Lune, 3Q Equestrian founder Datuk Seri Mahamad Fathil Mahmood and 3Q Equestrian director Quzier Ambak.
Ngan also expressed his gratitude towards the Ambak family for the partnership.
Qabil said, “Our family has had a presence in the area, where Gamuda Garden now stands, dating back many years.
“We are gratified that the land with sentimental value to us is being safeguarded and enhanced by a developer with Gamuda Land’s diligence, care and sense of responsibility.”
The equestrian athlete and Asian Games medallist said the joint ambition would provide an opportunity for everyone from all walks of life to experience horseback riding in the midst of nature via its Xploria initiative.
“The horse-riding attraction by 3Q Equestrian Centre comprises a paddock for leisurely pony rides and a guided horse ride along the scenic 1.5km Garden Hills forest trail in Gamuda Gardens township, which also boasts of lakes and waterfalls, ” he said in his speech.
“We hope this initiative and forest trail ride will spur interest in horses and horse riding, if not competitively, then at least for people to appreciate animals in general and horses in particular.”
Through this partnership, residents and visitors will be able to experience the tiered landscapes and natural beauty of the township, which incorporates two cascading waterfalls, five lakes, ample greenery and an award-winning central park.
The horse-riding attraction will be opened to Gamuda Gardens residents and the general public in mid-April this year.
Gamuda Gardens features a plethora of exciting experiences under Xploria, including a Donut Boat ride, a Nature School programme, Paws Playground pet agility training ground, Gardens Arena FIFA-standard football turf, Waterfront Village, Gardens Wellness Club and Big Bucket Splash water play park.
Other components within the greater development include wellness amenities, an international school, the Gardens Square commercial centre and a city centre.
