Village’s vibrant rejuvenation

Aptly called the Warna-Warni project, the rejuvenation involves painting between 60 and 70 wooden houses with bright colours to revitalise the outlook of the village.

KAMPUNG Chempaka in Petaling Jaya is undergoing its first phase of rejuvenation under the Urban Villages Rehabilitation Project – a collaboration with the Kampung Chempaka Village Community Management Council (MPKK) and Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).

Aptly called the “Warna-Warni” (colourful) project, coined by Bandar Utama assemblyman Jamaliah Jamaluddin, the rejuvenation involves painting between 60 and 70 wooden houses with bright colours to revitalise the outlook of the village.
