Mahadi Che Ngah appointed new KL mayor

PUTRAJAYA: Former Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) executive director (planning) Datuk Mahadi Che Ngah (pic) will be the 13th Kuala Lumpur mayor.

Mahadi started his career in DBKL as a town planner in April 1983 and clocked 36 years of service before his compulsory retirement in September last year.

Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa made the announcement at Menara Sri Wilayah.

He also announced that the ministry’s socio-economic division secretary Datuk Muhammad Azmi Mohd Zin would be the next Putrajaya Corporation (PjC) president.

Both positions were vacated Thursday (Oct 1) as Datuk Nor Hisham Ahmad Dahlan’s two-year contract as KL mayor and Datuk Dr Aminuddin Hassim’s two-year contract as PjC president ended on Wednesday (Sept 30).
