Virtual run to raise funds for Rohingya education centre

The first-ever “You’re Incredible Virtual Charity Run 2020” is being organised by The Incredibles Team of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia-Graduate School of Business to raise funds for a Rohingya community school in Kajang, Selangor.

The run, which is on for a month beginning July 15, is open to Malaysians as well as non-Malaysians residing in the country between the age of 7 and 70.

Held in partnership with printing centre Ombak Exclusive, it is divided into two categories -- 5km and 10km, and early bird registration fees are RM38 and RM48, respectively.

Participants will receive a finisher medal and T-shirt upon completion of the run.

The objective is to raise RM10,000 for the expansion of the alternative education centre managed by Akademi Rohingya Malaysia.

The money will go towards providing a conducive learning environment for the 54 students currently at the centre, accommodating more students into classes as well as catering to the needs of older girls by setting up a separate classroom.

Participants will be able to complete the run in their own time and at their selected location.

They only need to upload proof of their participation onto the CheckPoint Spot e-ticketing platform, and will receive a notification on completing the run.

Sponsors are welcome to support the cause by e-mailing theincredibles.ukmgsb@gmail.com or going to “You’re Incredible VCR 2020” on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
