SOME 65 compounds were issued for various offences, while 16 abandoned vehicles were towed during an enforcement operation in the light industrial area of Taman Keramat, Selangor.
The Ampang Jaya Municipal Council’s operation at IKS Keramat AU3 also saw action against two premises and the seizure of 14 motorcycles.
The operation was aimed at ensuring compliance with regulations while addressing safety, cleanliness and public order in the area.
“Of the compounds issued, 36 were for traffic offences, while 21 involved various offences uncovered during inspections of the premises,” MPAJ said in a media statement.
The local authority said 37 premises were inspected during the enforcement exercise.
MPAJ said it had also issued eight compounds against offences involving motorcycle frame obstructions.
Four slabs built over drains were also removed to keep the drainage system in good condition.
MPAJ said continuous enforcement would be intensified to ensure the small and medium-size enterprises in the AU3 area were clean, safe and well-managed.
The operation followed another enforcement exercise two days earlier, which covered 55 business premises, including 40 automotive workshops, across the Ampang Jaya municipality.
The inspections covering Lembah Jaya, Bandar Baru Ampang and Pandan Mewah resulted in 14 compounds being issued, five seizures carried out and seven notices issued for abandoned vehicles.
