Wau designing gets woman’s touch

TWENTY years ago, her fascination for flying wau (traditional Malaysian kite) saw Nor Asmah Daud travelling all the way from Ipoh, Perak to Kuala Perlis, Perlis to learn the art of designing wau from master craftsman Pak Non.

Now, the 45-year-old mother of seven is probably the only female wau maker and flying enthusiast in the country.
