INDIAN mackerel are enjoying a feast in the northern end of the Straits of Malacca, thanks to a marine phenomenon causing a super concentration of phytoplankton and zooplankton to bloom.
Hundreds of thousands of tonnes of the fish, locally known as kembong, are forming huge schools and swimming around all day to enjoy their feast of planktonic life.
