ISKANDAR PUTERI: A funeral service provider has teamed up with the longest-running trust company in Malaysia to help manage your assets after death.

Nirvana Asia Ltd (Nirvana) southern region signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Amanah Raya Bhd, to provide a comprehensive burial and asset management service.

The signing ceremony was held at Nirvana Skudai Memorial centre, between Amanah Raya Bhd group managing director Adenan Md Yusof and Nirvana Holdings Bhd Business development marketing deputy general manager Raymond Ong.

The MOU will allow Nirvana Asia Ltd and its agents to offer will services from Amanah Raya Bhd to its customers.

The services offered include will writing, safekeeping and execution, with a one-time payment from RM500.

Amanah Raya Bhd chairman Datuk Nasir Ali, during a press conference, highlighted the benefits of the partnership.

“Our services are mainly done after burial, where the allocation and management of assets are handled by us.

“It complements the services offered by Nirvana, as their job ends after burial is done, ” he said.

Nasir added that Amanah Raya was a government-backed organisation that had been operating since 1921 (it was then known as the Department of Public Trustee and Official Administrator).

Nirvana southern region chief executive officer Tan San Ling, said that as of now, a total of 25 agents under Nirvana had undergone training to promote the new services.

“We are planning to have three batches with 25 agents each this year.

“Our agents will be constantly updated to better offer these extra services to our potential customers, ” she said.
