IN CONJUNCTION with the global Movember movement, Panasonic Malaysia and the Prostate Cancer Society Malaysia (PCSM) initiated the “In The Pursuit of Manliness” campaign.

Aimed at raising awareness of prostate cancer and men’s health, the campaign rolled out online activations with six male influencers playing their role to empower both men and women to participate in the global initiative, by growing their facial hair.

Netizens were also seen posting selfies of their facial hair, using moustache filters with captions and hashtags #PursueManliness and #PCSM throughout November.

The month-long campaign wrapped up at Nimroc Barbershop’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, in the presence of the six influencers – John Tan, Kael, Ammar Akid, Mizwan Mahadi, Dash and Most Bouri.

To commemorate the finale of Movember, the six sporting hunks were shaved clean by their female fans, featuring the Panasonic 5-Blade Lamdash Wet/Dry Shaver with Multi-Flex 5D Head ES-LV6Q.

Guests also learned more about prostate cancer through sharing sessions by PCSM.

PCSM acting president Wong Kuan Sing said prostate cancer was the fourth highest cause of death among men in Malaysia.

“Sadly, prostate cancer comes with age. The risk among men in Malaysia is one in about 20.

“But with early detection and improved treatments, the survival rate is high.

“I urge everyone above 55 to go for a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test as a primary screening, ” said Wong, who is a prostate cancer survivor.

Nimroc HQ Maluri was the official venue partner, Big Onion Food Caterer was the official food sponsor and Gatorade Malaysia was the official beverage sponsor.

PCSM assistant secretary Steven Kong also shared his journey from being diagnosed with prostate cancer to getting treatment and being part of PCSM to provide emotional support to patients.

“Panasonic is looking to create meaningful experiences and topics revolving around men’s healthcare and about how men look and feel inside and out.

“It has been a great month to generate awareness for Movember, especially on men’s health.

“At Panasonic, we genuinely believe that every man deserves unpretentious luxury while grooming and this is where the ES-LV6Q comes in to offer ultimate precision, flexibility and comfort when shaving, ” said Panasonic Malaysia consumer product marketing and customer service director Fumiaki Tanaka.

With a retail price of RM1,225, the Panasonic 5-Blade Lamdash Wet/Dry Shaver with Multi-Flex 5D Head ES-LV6Q is available on the Panasonic official online store or at Panasonic authorised dealers.
