Septuagenarian siblings plead for safer abode

TWO elderly siblings from Falim, Perak, are hoping to have a new house to live in. Ng Lai Yee, 70, and her paralysed brother Ng Kok Yoon, 74, have been staying in their rundown wooden house since they were children.

“Our house has been infested with termites and the roof is leaking. Snakes have entered several times, ” Lai Yee told reporters during a visit by Perak MCA public service and complaints bureau chief Low Guo Nan.““We know this house is not safe to live in but we do not have a choice. There is also talk that the land has been sold. We are worried that someday we will be asked to move out, ” she added.Lai Yee said her brother had been paralysed for two years after an accident.
