SJK (C ) Li Tek Cawangan pupils from different races had a merry time taking part in their school’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
Dressed in traditional costumes, they performed several dances to entertain their teachers and parents.
In his speech, headmaster Lim Wei Lun said he hoped the event would allow pupils to understand more about Malay culture.
At the celebration at the school in Macallum Street Ghaut, Penang, guests were also invited to take part in the opening of the school’s caring corridor.
“The caring corridor is filled with beautiful paintings of traditional games, Mathematics and Science questions and also traffic information.
“We adopted a happy learning environment whereby students can apply what they have learnt at the corridor,” he said.
Li Tek school board of governors vice-president Datuk Yeoh Chip Tong said parents staying nearby should send their children to study at the school as its facilities were up to date and its environment was good.
SJK (C) Li Tek Cawangan has 122 students and 15 teachers.
Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Daniel Gooi was a guest at the Hari Raya celebration.
Also present were northeast education office primary Chinese schools supervisor Look Keng Wei, SJK (C) Li Tek Alumni Association secretary Lee Thuan Chye and Parent-Teacher Association (PIBG) chairman Chee Chi Howe.
