Raising asthma awareness through art

Dr Helmy says studies show that less than 10% of asthma cases are well-controlled. In other words, 90% of patients are suffering unnecessarily because of inadequate treatment.

ASTHMA Malaysia is launching its inaugural art competition “Clean Air for Healthy Lungs” in an effort to increase awareness of asthma.

Its co-founder Dr Sundari Ampikaipakan said although asthma affects 335 million worldwide, it is a non-communicable disease that can be controlled.
