MARK you calendar for the upcoming Penang Hill Festival (PHF2019) which will be held from July 18 to 21.
Themed ‘See the nature, feel the history’, the festival offers a chance to learn more about Penang Hill’s natural wonders and its 130 million-year-old tropical rainforest.
Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow said a total of 20 exciting events had being lined up including a photo exhibition, music on the hill, a rainforest exploration walk, Unesco Biosphere exhibition and night exploration.
“There will also be a photography workshop, rediscover the nature of Entopia, highland nature trail and nature walk.
“The PHF2019 is ready to set its mark as a yearly festival for all visitors to Penang Hill,” he told a press conference at David Brown’s Restaurant & Tea Terrace at Penang Hill recently.
Other activities not to be missed are the Habitalks, yoga sessions, the ginger garden tour by Bellevue Hotel, stargazing by Professor Dr Chong Hon Yew, bird watching and food promotions by David Brown.
Penang Hill Corporation general manager Cheok Lay Leng said about 9,000 visitors took part in the festival last year which was held over a longer period.
“We hope to see around 5,000 visitors this year,” he said.
It is free admission for selected activities while fees apply for some of the programmes.
