THE days of going to the bank to exchange notes for Chinese New Year angpow may soon be a thing of the past, thanks to a novel pre-booking online system by OCBC Bank (M) Bhd.
The system allows the bank’s current and savings account customers to pre-book their ang pow notes for between RM3,000 and RM10,000 on a first-come, first-served basis via www.ocbc.com.my/cnynotes
The pre-booking system generates an automated queue number and allows customers to determine the ringgit denominations of their choice.
They can then pick up the notes from a select list of branches on one of the two Saturdays immediately preceding the Lunar New Year, Jan 26 and Feb 2.
OCBC Bank’s Consumer Financial Services head Lim Wyson said the newly created online system ensured customers are attended to promptly.
He also said selected OCBC branches nationwide would remain open from 10am to 2.30pm on the two Saturdays before the Lunar New Year to provide greater convenience to customers.
OCBC’s Johor Baru and Melaka branches currently operate seven days a week.
