Padel fans have a new venue to try out, with the opening of a club in Bamboo Hills, Kuala Lumpur.
Pop Padel is open daily from 7am to midnight and offers six indoor courts, spectator stands, coaching academy, social lounge, equipment shop and ice bath room among its amenities.
Complementing those is La Pala restaurant – managed by UOA Hospitality – that serves Spanish and Malaysian cuisines.
Pop Padel founder and chief executive officer Davy Sanh said the venue could accommodate up to 500 people at a time.
“We have begun accepting bookings and so far, the reception has been very positive.
“It helps that the complex is strategically located,” he said in reference to accessibility of the court in Taman Bamboo via Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE).
Sanh said Pop Padel regularly collaborated with sports associations in hosting programmes.
“Padel is growing in popularity among Malaysians and we look forward to hosting major tournaments,” he added.
UOA Hospitality corporate general manager Tony Ho said as a growing sport, padel had the potential to bring communities together.
“People of all ages, from children to senior citizens, can play this sport.
“It also helps to encourage a healthy lifestyle among urban folk.
“At Bamboo Hills, UOA Hospitality offers a unique place for them to play, connect and unwind,” said Ho.
A media tour of the facility included an introduction to the collaborative “Prestige Pours on Tap” collection meant to elevate Pop Padel’s guest experience.
Court rental rates are RM110 per hour from 7am to 6pm, as well as 11pm to midnight, on weekdays. During other hours, the rate is RM130 per hour.
