Malaysian Armed Forces Chinese Veterans Association (Macva) will hold a charity event at Tasik Puteri Golf and Country Club, Rawang, Selangor on June 22.

Macva Charity Golf 2024 aims to raise at least RM60,000 for this year’s Warrior’s Day Campaign.

The association is collaborating with several companies sharing the same vision of aiding Malaysian Armed Forces veterans as well as members of the public.

Macva was set up by a group of army veterans on Aug 31, 2016, but has since welcomed retired navy and air force officers.

Interestingly, contrary to the association’s name, its comprises members of all races.

As a non-governmental organisation, Macva consists of experienced servicemen committed to societal progress and unity among Malaysians.

Event organising committee chairman Capt (Rtd) Pui Seng Tai said the charity golf tournament was not just a fundraising effort.

“It is also an excellent opportunity for veterans and golf enthusiasts to come together in a friendly competition,” he said.

“I encourage the public and private companies from all sectors to actively participate or donate in cash or kind.”

Participation fee is RM500 per golfer or RM2,000 for a flight of four.
