HONOR Malaysia celebrates its fifth anniversary with a consumer appreciation gala in Kuala Lumpur, recognising the role citizens play in shaping the brand’s products and its rise to market leadership.

The event brought together HONOR consumers, partners, photographers and students in a showcase of community support and technological ambition.

HONOR South Pacific president Justin Li said the company’s journey had been challenging but anchored by a clear focus on user needs.

“Today, it is rewarding to see HONOR become the Pilihan Utama Rakyat Malaysia. We are deeply grateful to the dedicated community that has stood by us, sharing our products and philosophy with steadfast loyalty.”

Li added that HONOR’s reputation for stability and durability was built not only through laboratory testing but through real world feedback from Malaysian users, photographers and students who have helped refine its devices.

The gala was officiated by Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching, who congratulated HONOR on its five years in Malaysia.

She highlighted the importance of device accessibility in supporting digital inclusion and that Internet coverage in populated areas exceeds 99%.

“With a suitable device and an active Internet subscription, access to the digital world is now within reach for almost everyone,” she said.

Teo also emphasised the significance of HONOR’s RM133mil participation in the Pakej Rahmah programme, which has helped more Malaysians access 5G enabled devices.

She welcomed HONOR’s support for students and educators, including subsidised devices on campuses and the establishment of an artificial intelligence education laboratory at Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, and added that such initiatives prepare future teachers and students for the digital age.

During the awards ceremony, HONOR recognised consumers across eight categories, including Super Supporter, Tough Love, Tech Consultant King, Future Star, Beta Excellence, Next Talent, Phonetographer of the Year and the flagship HONOR of Malaysia Award.

The categories celebrated contributions ranging from long term advocacy and product stress testing to student innovation, beta feedback and mobile photography.

The company also launched the HONOR of Malaysia Awards Project, a long term CSR initiative honouring ordinary Malaysians who have made meaningful contributions to society.

Three recipients were recognised: Mohd Adli Yahya, the founder of the Autism Cafe Project, Prakash Surriyamurthy, a visually impaired teacher dedicated to education and Siti Normala Adrus (Mak Jah), known for providing affordable meals and free food for students.

In conjunction with the anniversary, HONOR announced a partnership supporting Visit Malaysia 2026, anchored by the nationwide HONOR Magic Moments Photography Tour, running from February to August. The programme will feature workshops, product trials and on ground activities, with selected works to be showcased internationally at the HONOR Global Exhibition 2026.
