Flood hits mall in Puchong


IOI employees could be seen around the mall trying to clear out the water.

PUCHONG: Visitors were seen rushing out of IOI Mall Puchong here as water from overflowing monsoon drains next to the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP) washed into the building.

According to the MBSJ's flood alert system, the water level around the mall reached 3.156m as of 6.55pm.

According to mall visitors, water first flooded the mall's North Court parking lot before eventually entering the buulding.

One visitor who wanted to be only named as Azira said that her car, parked in the mall was submerged in water, while another mall employee said that their boss’ car was also flooded.

Mall employees are currently in the midst of clearing out the water.
