Tourism Selangor has recently released a new song called Surprising Selangor Kan Ada.
It is a mash-up of the respective theme songs for its two tourism promotional campaigns, Surprising Selangor (for the international market) and Selangor Kan Ada (for domestic tourists).
In the music video unveiled at the launch of Selangor Travel Fair (STF) 2026 last Saturday, Tourism Selangor staff could be seen dancing alongside Padat (Perbadanan Adat Melayu dan Warisan Negeri Selangor) members.
That’s because the song holds a special meaning for Tourism Selangor, as it is made in celebration of the agency’s Silver Jubilee.

Songs make for a great promotional tool, especially when they have a catchy and hard-to-forget tune.
Take for example the theme song of New Folk Song Gala: Selangor Edition, the cultural TV programme created through Tourism Selangor’s collaboration with China’s Guangxi Radio and Television.
The song combines Malaysia’s folk song Ikan Kekek with China’s Wan Shui Qian Shan Zong Shi Qing.
As shared by state local government and tourism committee chairman Datuk Ng Suee Lim at the launch, the theme song successfully garnered worldwide attention. It reached over 250 million views across 10 social media platforms, including YouTube, Weibo, Douyin and Xiaohongshu.
He also congratulated Tourism Selangor on its 25th anniversary, and expressed hope to see Visit Selangor Year 2026 reach its target of 9 million tourist arrivals.
Holding events like the recent STF 2026 is part of the state’s tourism push. The two-day fair, held over the weekend, welcomed over 50,000 visitors.

Featuring 40 tourism exhibitors, double the number of exhibitors at last year’s fair, STF 2026 generated more than RM150,000 in sales.
Visitors were treated to deals and packages for various tourism offerings, including theme parks, ecotourism, agritourism, heritage, gastronomy, hospitality and recreational attractions.
Selangor is also set to see higher tourist arrivals with the return of Formula 1 at Sepang International Circuit (SIC).
From Oct 2 to 6, the Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix fan activation in Malaysia will be held at SIC.
Formula 1 fans from across the globe are set to attend, their visits expected to extend beyond Sepang, especially into key tourism hubs across the Petaling and Hulu Langat districts.
