The Visit Malaysia 2026 promotional video will be updated quarterly to ensure it remains relevant with the latest tourist attractions throughout the country.

Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing said with that in mind, Tourism Malaysia and the production company involved are asked to continue working with all states to improve the promotional video from time to time.

"Every quarterly, we will ask to update the video (as) there is a possibility there are new destinations or packages, so we will ask for updates.

"We want to show as Malaysia, we welcome everybody and we have a lot of destinations and a lot of package to choose (from),” he told reporters after launching the 35-minute VM2026 promotional video at Pavillion Kuala Lumpur recently.

He also expressed hope that the production of the video would not be politicised and stated his willingness to take any positive comment from all parties to help strengthen the national tourism industry.

In his speech at the launch earlier that was read by Tourism Director-General Datuk P Manoharan, Tiong said all parties have to work together to ensure the continued growth of the tourism sector, and to attract more tourists which would bring continued economic spillover effect to the country.

"The success of VM2026 does not rely merely on the promotional video. Continued support and active participation from all parties - tourism industry players, private sector and all Malaysians - are needed.

"I urge that we all together be our country’s tourism ambassadors, ensure each tourist who comes to Malaysia brings home lovely experiences and share our country’s uniqueness with the world,” he said as he welcomed the cooperation of media partners and industry operators to spread the promotional video on their respective platforms.

Tiong had also previously answered a question at the Dewan Rakyat about the cost of the video, which he explained was RM1.9mil and involved compiling 200 short videos via open tender. – Bernama
