It's time to shop again!

Tourism Malaysia has launched the Malaysia Year-End Sales Campaign 2024, in cooperation with Mastercard and more than 60 local tourism industry players that includes, airlines, hotels and shopping malls nationwide.

During the event, which runs until Jan 1 next year, participating malls around the country will hold weekly promotions, featuring more than 130 exciting activities. Participating stores and vendors will also be offering discounts of up to a whopping 90%!

On top of that, the campaign has midnight shopping sprees, too, which will be held at several locations including Sutera Mall Johor Baru and The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur (both happening on Dec 31).

Shoppers also get to enjoy discounts on AirAsia Ride for transportation to participating malls (check the app for details).

At the same time, Malaysia Aviation Group is offering attractive airfares for flights on Malaysia Airlines to various international destinations, including Japan, Taiwan and England, with domestic flights to Langkawi, Penang and Johor Baru. For more information, head to the Malaysia Airlines website (malaysiaairlines.com).

Some hotels are also included in the campaign; guests can enjoy late check-out privileges until 4.30pm.

This campaign promotes diverse tourism activities, boosting the country’s appeal as a shopping destination.

The deputy secretary-general of Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr Yasmeen Yasim, said the shopping segment in tourist expenditure hit RM26.98bil, a significant 63% increase compared to 2023’s RM16.56bil.

“We are confident that the reintroduction of the Malaysia Mega Sale campaign this year will further boost this segment’s growth,” she said during an event in Petaling Jaya.
