News that the legendary British band Oasis are reuniting to tour Britain is generating much interest among European fans, who are already planning to cross the English Channel next summer.

Apparently, Italians are in the lead.

It’s the good news that has brightened up the end of the summer, at least for fans nostalgic for the 1990s. Fifteen years after splitting up in true rock ‘n’ roll style at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris, Oasis – and its frontmen, brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher – appear to have buried the hatchet.

A tour has even been announced for summer 2025, with dates in Britain only.

That was all it took for fans in Europe to start making plans for next year’s summer vacation. On the very day that news of the tour dropped (Aug 27), flight searches to all the cities hosting the concerts soared by an average of 2,838% on the booking platform eDreams.

This is based on data from searches carried out on eDreams travel platforms for journeys in July and August 2025 to Oasis’ 2025 tour dates and venues (Dublin, Edinburgh, London, Manchester and Cardiff), compared to the same dates the previous year.

Less touristy than London, the city of Cardiff in Wales is logically very popular, with a boom in searches up 121 times compared to the same date a year earlier.

The French are particularly interested in heading to the Welsh capital so as not to miss out on the event.

They could also be heading to Manchester, if not Edinburgh in Scotland, if the strongest increases in searches are anything to go by.

However, French fans are not the most eager to cross the English Channel to catch their favourite band live on stage. According to eDreams data, it’s Italian fans who lead the way as the most interested in taking a trip to Britain in 2025 following the Gallagher brothers’ announcement.

Other most interested European fans are, in descending order, those from Spain, Germany, Britain and France. – AFP Relaxnews
