Festival of fashion: Celebrities bring the glamour with bold Coachella looks

From bold fashion statements to unexpected style twists, Coachella 2025 wasn’t just about the music – it was a runway.

This was immediately apparent on stage, like how Lady Gaga gave a two-hour performance with several head-turning outfit changes.

First, there was a multi-storied red gown that hid several dancers under the ruffled skirt. Then she appeared in avant-garde jackets, plus a lace bodysuit and numerous themed costumes.

Lisa of Blackpink entertained the crowd wearing two different looks. There was a sculpted reptile skin suit and breastplate, as well as a more futuristic outfit that literally glowed with glass-like petals.

“Both looks explore transformation – one cold-blooded and commanding, the other ethereal and light. That balance is what excites me,” the designer, Asher Levine, told Women’s Wear Daily.

Blackpink’s Jennie also performed solo at this year’s Coachella. She was seen in a sparkling silver mini skirt, matching sequin jacket and a rhinestone-studded cowboy hat.

The last time the quartet – Jennie, Lisa, Rose and Jisoo – owned the Coachella stage, it was during their Born Pink era.

At present, the girls are doing solo works, but they are returning as a group this year.

While covering Bohemian Rhapsody – a tribute to Freddie Mercury – Benson Boone wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana jumpsuit that came with a fur cape.

He later changed into a white two-piece ensemble that also paid tribute to the Queen frontman’s epic style.

K-pop boyband Enhypen rocked the Coachella stage in cowboy-themed Prada designs.

“I heard only a handful of global artistes have had custom stage outfits made by Prada, so it feels both surreal and incredibly special to be the first K-pop act to receive that opportunity,” the group’s member Jungwon told GQ prior to the performance.

“The beadwork and details are going to shine even under the stage lights, which makes our first Coachella performance even more meaningful.”

In his hour-long country music spectacular, Shaboozey played the guitar and sang wearing a rhinestone-covered suit.

His fans responded by singing along as they swayed in cowboy hats and faux-vintage crop tops.

Ravyn Lenae wowed festival goers with a two-piece leather design that came complete with a fascinator.

She explained to Essence that it was about “keeping a sultry, sensual, and sexy feel”, but “with a Renaissance, almost Victorian visual language”.

Charli XCX, known for setting fashion trends (remember last year’s brat girl green?), turned heads in her all-black getup.

She looked like she was having the best time of her life, and even brought out stars like Billie Eilish, Lorde and Troye Sivan for special performance cameos.

Coachella is a major music and arts festival held in California annually. This year it took place from April 11 to April 20, with performances over two weekends.
