Full-time lifestyle content creator and entrepreneur Asma’ Nasaruddin is proof that one can achieve fashion icon status through clever mixing and matching, having a clean aesthetic to her style choices, and wearing neutral hues with solid basics.

“As I’m typing this, I’m thinking of photoshoots and creative marketing ideas for my oral care brand that just turned one year old last week,” says Asma’ in an email interview.

“It’s been interesting juggling being a full-time lifestyle content creator and wearing this new entrepreneur hat. Right now my focus is on growing my business. And this makes me excited because that means more opportunities to turn up at networking events in more structured blazers, stunning heels and a big smile.”

She describes her personal style as “feminine and sophisticated, with a little edge”.

“After experimenting with all kinds of fashion trends since I was a teenager – I have always enjoyed fashion – I think I’ve finally found my personal style in my thirties,” says Asma’.

Who would you consider a style icon and why?

Victoria Beckham for her understated glamour. She always looks so refined in monotone layers, but never boring. Carolina Herrera for being the epitome of class and elegance in her crisp white shirts and voluminous skirts, and Hailey Bieber for her sophisticated street style.

What are three key pieces everyone should have in their wardrobe?

A great structured jacket (cutting is everything), a flattering A-line skirt and a good pair of jeans (find a cut that flatters your body type). These are the kind of pieces you can re-wear again and again, and create multiple looks by mix matching.
