There is seemingly no end to the beauty tips and trends on TikTok, with new and different ones cropping up every week and getting viral attention.

After "passport makeup" and "crying makeup", now it's time for some electrifying looks to deck yourself out with for the year-end festivities. Users of the Chinese social network swear by the "LED eyeliner" technique to put the accent on the eyes and shine bright at all your holiday events.

The Christmas decorations won't be the only thing lighting up the room this holiday season.

It doesn't matter if you choose a dark outfit or one covered in rhinestones and glitter, it's your beauty routine that will make all the difference this year. That's because the current makeup trend rising on TikTok is LED eyeliner.

Contrary to what its name suggests, it is not – we assure you – about adorning yourself with lights of all kinds, but rather making the focus of your look a sharp, colourful liner style that puts the spotlight on your eyes.

A neon look

The LED-eyeliner trend is inspiring several beauty fans on TikTok, so much so that the hashtag #LEDeyeliner has already accumulated more than 150,000 views – and this is just the beginning.

Looking at the comments posted under each video, there's no doubt that the phenomenon is set to become even bigger with the approaching festive party season.

Especially since the technique is very easy to reproduce and the rest of the face only requires minimal makeup, for an almost natural look.

To get the LED eyeliner look, all you need is a white eyeliner, preferably a liquid one, which will be the base of this makeover, as well as highly pigmented eyeshadows or eyeliners.

Once all the elements are gathered, you can start drawing your white line in a triangle, the most classic shape, although some users are even more daring with sharper, geometric-inspired lines.

Once the white eyeliner has dried, all that's left to do is apply eye shadow, or juxtapose a bright-coloured eyeliner, whether yellow, blue, orange, red, or green; it doesn't matter as long as the colour offers a neon look. And that's it.

A winter that emphasizes colour

Usually more associated with the beachy and tropical styles of summer, this type of makeup look is perfectly in tune with the Autumn/Winter 2022 season, which is all about vibrant colours.

In addition to LED eyeliner, the "Skittles manicure", named after the famous candy, is also a top style for the holiday season.

Here, it's all about using several colours of nail polish to elevate your nail look. A strong trend that could even replace the glitter we're used to seeing on the face and nails during the holiday season.
