"Hobiuary" (Hobi being BTS' J-Hope's nickname) is finally here and BTS fans – collectively known as ARMY – are excited to dedicate this entire month to their sunshine band member.
Fans value J-Hope's talents in music, dance and rap, and they also love his zany fashion sense.
While ascending to being a global band and breaking musical records, he is also out there setting fashion trends. He is so impeccable that he even plans and lays his outfits out on bed the night before.
He often showcases his bold fashion choices through OOTD (outfit of the day) posts captioned “#outfit” on his Instagram account, @uarmyhope.
In celebration of J-Hope’s birthday on Feb 18, here are his five signature looks.
Popping, rocking and flexing

Although it is a general rule in fashion that oversized tops should be paired with a tight fitting bottom, it is not one J-Hope follows. The superstar sets his own fashion terms as seen in his OOTD post on Instagram where he combined a baggy Raf Simons cardigan with an equally oversized pair of sweatpants.
To draw more attention to his look, J-Hope incorporated a beige fur bag into his ensemble and finished it off with a beanie and muffler.
A living daydream

The “Daydream” rapper has proven time and again that he is versatile when it comes to his fashion choices. Taking a break from his usual baggy pieces, J-Hope opted for a more relaxed “boyfriend-material” attire in an OOTD post shared on Instagram.
The ensemble consisting of a plaid zip-up flannel jacket from Chrome Hearts, black crew neck from Louis Vuitton and a pair of fitting denim jeans exude a cosy vibe. Throwing in a pair of Converse and LV Gavroche cap into the mix, J-Hope looks extra cuddly in this outfit.
Hope on the streets

One thing J-Hope never restricts in his wardrobe is bright colours – and bucket hats!
Our Sunshine rocks vibrant hues, birthing what ARMYs today call the "Hobicore" aesthetic. In 2020, J-Hope left fans starstruck after posting a picture of himself in a stylish streetwear ensemble.
He wore a long-sleeved oversized tee layered underneath a slouchy printed shirt. The print featuring various cartoon characters radiates a playful vibe, perfectly matching the idol’s cheerful personality.
He paired his outfit with some distressed jeans and topped off his look with a bucket hat from Kangol.
A little funk and soul

Light it up like dynamite is this retro ensemble put together by fashion icon, J-Hope. Going for an old-school style, the rapper incorporated many graphic pieces into his fit.
In his Instagram post, he sported a slouchy tee with a letterman jacket featuring various patterns. He matched his outfit with a pair of baggy denim jeans and shoes from Louis Vuitton.
To elevate the overall look, J-Hope accessorised with a star-patched knit cap and blue belt, adding a pair of tinted sunglasses for that retro touch.
Dior prince

Racking up over 17.1 million views on a fancam (a video closeup filmed by an audience member during an idol’s performance) featuring him dressed head-to-toe in Dior, this outfit is perhaps J-Hope’s most iconic one yet.
During BTS’ first Speak Yourself concert, the idol made headlines after emerging onstage in a military-esque "commando" style outfit inspired by Kim Jones’ Pre-Fall 2019 Dior collection.
The rings, harness, chains and combat boots paired with the all-black outfit radiate a powerful energy. Combined with the idol’s stunning visuals and spectacular stage performance, the ensemble just screams “superior”.
