If you are a fan of Chinese period drama series Story Of Yanxi Palace, you will most probably recognise Lawrence Wong. And if you have spent hours staring at him on screen, you'll know that he has the most beautiful complexion ever.

So, it wouldn't be a surprise to find out that the Johor Baru-born actor has now launched his own skincare line. Named Grail, it is botanical based and formulated for all ages, genders and skin types.

“I’ve always wanted to have my skincare line for a really, really long time but due to my busy schedule, I never have much time to go about it. The project only fully materialised in 2020 because of Covid," Wong recently told Yahoo Lifestyle SEA.

In the same interview, he revealed that skin allergies and breakouts were things he had to contend with in the past. This can be a big problem, especially if you're someone who makes a living in front of the camera all the time.

Over the weekend, Wong posted on Instagram that the first batch of products has sold out – a mere four days after launching this month. He also demonstrated how translucent and moldable the Grail face mask is.

Since his Yanxi Palace days, Wong has gone on to star in various Chinese dramas. His rom-com Girlfriend reportedly garnered over a hundred million views within 30 hours of its release last April.

The 32-year-old has also partnered with big brands, appearing in their campaigns. The most notable would probably be his relationship with Montblanc.

In 2018, he was named the luxury watchmaker's first “Friend Of The Brand” in Malaysia. He even travelled to St. Moritz, Switzerland, early last year (before the world went into lockdown) for a shoot.

Just last November, Wong shared an Instagram video detailing his morning skincare routine. This alone has garnered more than 50,000 views to date.

The launching of Grail is thus a wise choice for him to branch out from the entertainment scene and make his mark in various other industries.

Hey, if people like Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and more can do it – why not celebrities on this side of the world?
