The recent release of Ice Cream proved to be quite a treat for Blackpink fans – both aurally and visually.
As the K-pop group's latest single, it hit a new career-best rank on the "Billboard Hot 100" songs chart. Ice Cream debuted at No. 13 just last week, surpassing How You Like That, and even the collaboration with Lady Gaga, Sour Candy.
The music video excited ardent followers among the style crowd too. Especially since it features not only the talented girls of Blackpink, but also pop sensation (and all-American fashion sweetheart) Selena Gomez.
Everyone was just curious to see how Blackpink's unique K-pop style would compare to (or perhaps, complement) Gomez's girl-next-door vibe. It turns out that the two go well together.
With a sugary aesthetic, the clothes in Ice Cream were kitschy. They were still appealing in a cute and whimsically chic way though. There's no denying that.
Rose, Jennie, Lisa and Jisoo showed off their unique styles, mixing luxe fashion and wearing them in a young, trendy way.
Some of the more recognisable designer labels were Chanel, Tory Burch and Moschino. Outfits by brands like Stretsis (Thailand), Sevali (France), Fluffy (UK), Area (US), Gcds (Italy) and more made an appearance as well.
All manner of accessories were spotted, from leather gloves to pearl necklaces and lace stockings.
As it is, every Blackpink look in the music video deserved its own OOTD (outfit of the day) social media post.
Gomez brought out her grown-up, femme fatale side for Ice Cream. In one scene, she wore a red-and-white striped, high-waisted bikini. In another, she stunned viewers with a 1980s-inspired Puma bodysuit.
The cherry on top (yes, an intentionally chosen phrase) however, was the super adorable yellow-and-white gingham romper paired with a headscarf.
So, the fashion verdict is in. Blackpink and Gomez are a fashion match like no other.
In Gomez's own words, posting on Instagram about releasing her own flavour in collaboration with ice-cream brand Serendipity: "So, basically, it's heaven."
