Fresh off claiming the title of “Malaysia’s Best Bar” at the recent Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2026 ceremony, KL bar Three X Co is not resting on its laurels.
Located on the third floor of Bangsar Shopping Centre, the bar recently did some renovating to freshen up the place. Its iconic “muse” – a mural of a Chinese opera singer holding a martini glass and a cigar – remains the centrepiece of the bar, but the interior looks brighter, more colourful, and classier as well.

Three X Co also launched a new cocktail menu titled “Between Us”, a continuation of sorts of its previous menu, “IndiVduality”.
The previous menu focused on the individuals and personalities we meet in the bar; Between Us, meanwhile, celebrates the spaces in between these individuals.
It unfolds like a film, starting from the arrival of guests, the quiet moments of reflection, the hesitance among strangers, the tentative small talks, the smouldering tensions, and then moving on to the shift in conversations (and decibel levels) as the night progresses.

The drinks themselves are a combination of older favourites like the Whimsy Wabbit and Ayu Ayumi, and eight other new drinks.
We started off with Liam’s Limerick, a refreshing highball made with Belvedere vodka, chen pi (mandarin orange peel), yuzu and cola, then topped with a yummy sea salt coconut mousse that keeps you going back for more.

Another light delight is Mister Mellon, a gin-based watermelon-forward tipple that is clarified with Ipoh white coffee for a caffeinated kick in the finish.
It's an ingenious way of incorporating both watermelon and Ipoh white coffee into hte same drink – the former gives it a refreshing and fruity element, while the latter somehow sneaks up on your palate at the end to deliver a quite pleasant coffee finish.

If sours are more to your fancy, do try the Emerald Emiko and the Young Yuzuru.
The former uses not one, not two, but three spirits (shochu, cachaça, and Midori melon liqueur) for a delicious “silent killer” of a Midori Sour twist.
The Young Yuzuru is a whiskey sour that is bright, balanced, and will surely please lovers of yuzu.

My favourite among the new drinks is the Vested Vesper, a Vesper Martini with a nutty pistachio twist.
The pistachio aroma lends a deceptively light front to an otherwise spirit-forward drink, and serves as a great introduction to this particular classic for someone who is new to martinis.

Last but not least was Airy Avery, one of the more unique cocktails on the menu.
Made with rum and cognac, along with glutinous rice tea, sweet corn, coconut and a peanut butter cloud, this is an “edible cocktail” that looks more like a sundae than a drink, and serves as a great dessert if you’re just coming in after a heavy meal.

There is also an “Inner Circle Classics” section for longtime guests who want something familiar, but with the usual Three X Co twist (The Fernet Grasshopper was a desserty take on the classic minty Grasshopper, topped with vanilla ice cream).
With its combination of classic favourites and new, unique drinks, Three X Co’s new menu is well worth checking out.
