Even though the movement control order (MCO) has been loosened, Kathak dance student Sniha V. Anup is well aware that e-dance lessons will be the new normal for her.
But the homemaker misses her regular catch-up sessions with her Kathak dance mates, consultant director Rajini Aravind, 44, and businesswoman Aastha Arun, 30.
“The MCO has set numerous restrictions on my social life, and it has affected me emotionally. Before the MCO, Rajini, Aastha and I hung out regularly. We haven’t seen each other for over a month and we miss each other’s company, ” says Sniha, 26, an expatriate from Dubai who has been living in Kuala Lumpur for a year.
Three weeks ago, Sniha rounded her dance buddies to participate in the #Don’tRushChallenge video. The viral trend, created by British business management student Toluwalase Asolo during the lockdown in Britain, is about how friends can show off their best transformations at home with their going-out looks.
“I came across a few interesting #Don’tRushChallenge videos and I wanted to give it a try. I was so happy when Rajini and Aashta were extremely supportive of joining me in making our ‘challenge’ video, ” explains Sniha, who served as the virtual director of the video.
