BMI inaccurate for important changes in obesity

Body mass index (BMI) is commonly used to evaluate a person’s weight status and determine whether they’re of normal weight, overweight or obese.

However, a new study, to be presented at the European Congress on Obesity in May (2025) in Malaga, Spain, calls the relevance of this tool into question.
