Not just charts, boyband BTS tops the celebrity cake list too

How do fans show love to their favourite celebrities these days? Creatively! They make themselves (or commission) a celebrity-themed birthday cake and eat it too!

Wondered which famous face is favoured the most by fans the world over? Interested in finding that out, online cake shop looked through Instagram hashtags to find out which celebrity had been features on cakes the most often.

No surprises that South Korean bands came out on top.

Taking the lead just like they seem to be doing on music charts these days, is South Korean boyband BTS with a whopping 30,479 cake related posts on Instagram. From cake toppers of the whole band to individual cake pops of each of the band members, fans are clearly dedicated to proving their love and loyalty all year round.

In second place is yet another band hailing from South Korea, Blackpink with 9,281 Instagram posts. When it comes to cake designs of the girl band, most stuck to the band's trademark pink and black theme and topped with the, now iconic, South Korean finger heart gesture.

In third place is Ariana Grande with 5,297 cake photos of her on Instagram. There's quite a big range of birthday cakes fans have created of her, from recreating her perfume bottles to the iconic burn book font from Mean Girls for her hit single Thank U, Next.

Up next is Drake (4,221 Instagram posts). Claiming fifth place is Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny with 3,690 cake related Instagram posts. His hit single with 425,749,265 streams, Yo Perreo Sola, was among the popular choices made by fans on their cake.

Harry Styles takes sixth place thanks to 2,422 Instagram posts. From his iconic fish lens cover for his 2019 album Fine Line, to the hit that spurred a worldwide Watermelon Sugar high, it’s clear his second album left an impression on his fans.

Bet you can't guess who came after Styles, though.

It's none other than former United States president, Donald Trump (2,366) while Michael Jackson (2,082) is in eighth place.

Completing the top ten are football legend Lionel Messi (1,571) and everyone’s favourite popstar Billie Eilish (1,548).

And, following his debut in the Netflix documentary Tiger King, Joe Exotic was able to steal the attention of people all over the globe, including cake makers with a total of 1,270 cakes relating to him on Instagram.

He even beat Taylor Swift who came in 11th place (1,503), followed by Cristiano Ronaldo (1,385) in 12th place. Taking 14th place is Michael Jordan (1,201) with cake versions of him and his jersey posted. Beyonce (1,109) takes 15th place with the big influence her Lemonade album had on her fans.
