More than three decades after her divorce from Hong Kong billionaire Peter Lam, former Taiwanese child star Hsieh Ling Ling continues to share a close relationship with his family.

The 69-year-old recently reunited with Lam's family to celebrate the 45th birthday of their eldest son Lester.

The intimate gathering also brought Hsieh together with her former mother-in-law, who is 101 years old.

On July 16, Hsieh shared a video montage of the celebration on Instagram.

In the footage, the Kung Pow: Enter The Fist star – dressed elegantly in a red top – appeared to be in high spirits as she posed alongside members of the Lam family.

While Lester was the guest of honour, Hsieh playfully said his grandmother became the highlight of the celebration.

"Being cherished and remembered by a centenarian (a person who has reached 100 years old) grandmother is a blessing that many people can only wish for," she wrote.

Hsieh's close bond with her former mother-in-law has continued long after her divorce from Lam, 68, in 1995.

It is reported that following their split, her former mother-in-law publicly supported her and said she would always regard Hsieh as her daughter-in-law.

Hsieh and Lam tied the knot in 1980 and have five children together – Lester, Emily, Evelyn, Eleanor and Lucas.

The former couple divorced after Lam's infamous affair with retired Taiwanese actress Joey Wong.
