South Korean singer Kim Yun-seol has died at the age of 27.

According to Korean media reports, she passed away on June 7. A funeral service was held shortly afterwards.

The cause of death has not been disclosed.

Kim first gained attention after winning Mnet's Voice Kids in 2013. She later appeared on several television singing competitions, including The Voice Of Korea 3, I Can See Your Voice 7 and, most recently, Sing Again 4.

The singer had recently launched a TikTok account to connect more closely with fans and was planning a livestream on June 7 to mark the 100th day since opening the account.

"It's not at midnight today, but at 8pm," she wrote in a post translated by SBS Star.

She went on to thank her fans, writing: "Thank you so much for always being with me. Let's continue to make good times together in the future."

Following news of her death, singer Kim Jae-guk of the band Takapi, who appeared alongside her on Sing Again 4, paid tribute on social media.

"Kim Yun-seol, who appeared as contestant No. 6 with us, has gone to heaven. She was such a kind person," he wrote, according to Allkpop.
