Malaysian model-actress Lisa Ch'ng and Hong Kong actor Mat Yeung are counting down to their wedding in Malaysia next month, but the groom-to-be still found a way to surprise his fiancee.
The couple recently travelled to Guangzhou, China, to film their wedding music video, where Yeung recreated his proposal by getting down on one knee and presenting Ch'ng with a diamond ring once again.
The unexpected gesture left Ch'ng in tears as she happily accepted his proposal for a second time.
The pair recently wrapped up filming for the TVB sitcom Come Home Love and are now focusing on preparations for their wedding, which is reportedly set to take place on Aug 2 at a five-star hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
According to China Press, the couple – who have been in a relationship for 10 years now – filmed a series of romantic scenes for the music video, including reenacting their first meeting and falling in love.
The report added that the wedding music video will be screened during their wedding banquet for family and friends.
Ch'ng – the daughter of the late Malaysian tycoon Datuk Bill Ch'ng Chong Poh – said the proposal completely caught her off guard.
"I didn't expect it to happen here. We've been so busy and focused on making the video," she said.
Yeung explained that he wanted to seize the rare opportunity to give his bride-to-be a genuine surprise.
Laughing, Ch'ng replied: "Finally, a successful surprise," revealing that she usually manages to guess his surprises in advance.
