Hong Kong celebrity couple Tony Leung Chiu-wai and Carina Lau are no strangers to the global film industry, having a combined net worth exceeding US$150mil (RM608mil) as of mid-2024.

Despite their wealth and decades-long success, the loving pair – married since 2008 – have always remained humble.

According to reports, Lau recently spent hundreds of thousands of Hong Kong dollars to host a dinner for the celebrity talents and production team of her variety show The Blooming Journey.

The 60-year-old was said to have treated guests to a sumptuous seafood banquet, featuring premium ingredients, at an upscale French restaurant.

The level of extravagance was so high that even Chinese actress He Saifei, who's no stranger to grand occasions, couldn't help but comment: "Everything was huge and expensive!"

During the dinner, Lau also celebrated a belated birthday for Chinese singer Owen Shao, who turned 21 on Oct 19, 2025.

She then booked a KTV room, where the party continued.

Lau's generosity has long been admired.

In 2015, the actress gifted her godson – Chinese actor He Jun's son – a gold tableware set valued at around HK$300,000 (RM156,028).

She also gave him a 7,100 sq ft villa as a gift, according to Singapore-based news channel CNA.
