Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei, the ex-husband of late Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, was recently spotted in Kuala Lumpur.

The 44-year-old was reportedly scouting locations to expand his successful hot pot chain Ma Liu Ji, according to Sin Chew Daily.

In a video shared on the brand's Xiaohongshu account, Wang and his team were seen visiting several high-traffic areas such as Bukit Bintang and Sunway Velocity Mall.

Several fans who ran into Wang shared their encounters, posting photos along with their stories.

One person said they recognised him instantly, adding: "He looks much younger in person. I also noticed that he and his team were all in long sleeves and pants. Aren't they feeling hot?"

Many netizens expressed excitement over Wang potentially expanding his business in Malaysia, while others left messages welcoming him to the country.

"Ma Liu Ji is coming to Malaysia," one user wrote.

Another humorously commented: "Do you need a manager? I'll be the first to apply."

Wang and Hsu, who shared two children, were married from 2010 until 2021.

After their divorce, Hsu married South Korean musician Koo Jun-yup, better known as DJ Koo, while Wang tied the knot with Taiwanese influencer Mandy Ma.

Hsu, known for the 2001 drama Meteor Garden, died of influenza-induced pneumonia on Feb 2. She was 48.

Following her passing, Wang described Hsu as family and even shared a message on social media, saying he missed her.
