Taiwanese actor Zack Fanchiang has accused his wife Chiang Wei-lin of cheating on him with singer Prince Chiu, formerly of the disbanded boy band Lollipop.
The 33-year-old, popularly known as Zack, expressed his heartbreak in an Instagram Reel on Oct 29.
“I always thought we could trust each other and weather the storms together. Looking back, I was betrayed by the person I trusted most," he said.
Zack and Chiang, who dated for six years before marrying in 2022, share a three-year-old daughter nicknamed Little Jam.
According to Zack, trouble began between March and April this year, when he was in Japan with his family while Chiang travelled to the United States with Chiu, 36, and a group of friends.
During that time, Zack said his wife became distant, rarely replying to his messages and never asking about him or their child.
“When she returned, she said she really enjoyed her trip and told me we were too clingy – that she needed more personal time and space,” he recalled.
Though hurt, Zack tried to respect her wishes. However, Chiang gradually stopped informing him about her whereabouts and eventually stopped returning home on some days.
Her coldness, Zack said, left him mentally and physically exhausted.
The actor further alleged that Chiang once asked him to sign an agreement waiving his rights to post-marital property, but his family intervened.
He claimed to have evidence of her affair with Chiu, though Chiang supposedly denied the accusation when confronted.
“At that moment, I saw our relationship for what it truly was,” he said.
Though Zack initially wanted to keep their issues private, he decided to speak out after Chiang “showed no remorse” and continued contacting Chiu, whose real name is Chiu Shengyi.
He plans to take legal action, claiming he has no access to his past earnings since all marital assets are under Chiang’s name.
Zack ended his video with a message to Chiu, saying: “Doing something wrong isn’t the scary part. What’s frightening is refusing to reflect on it.
“You destroyed my family yet still walk the red carpet and accept awards. Is this how you protect your image and call yourself a person of integrity?”
Both Chiang and Chiu responded later that day.
In an Instagram Story, Chiang said she had been trying to communicate sincerely about the end of her marriage but claimed the divorce settlement amount proposed by Zack was beyond what she could afford.
She also claimed that his video contained many statements inconsistent with facts.
Meanwhile, Chiu issued an apology, saying he’s not someone who destroys a family.
The singer added that he became concerned after learning Chiang was negotiating a divorce, and he ultimately “crossed the boundaries of what’s appropriate between friends”.
“Even if my actions came from care and sympathy, this wasn’t the right way to express it. A mistake is a mistake. There’s no excuse,” he said.
