Singaporean TV host Lee Teng has come under fire from his Taiwanese wife Gina Lin, who publicly criticised his “dangerous” approach to parenting.

In an Instagram Story on Oct 21, Lin detailed several instances of what she described as unsafe behaviour by Lee, 41, toward their four-month-old son Ellison.

Among them include placing Ellison in the wrong feeding position, causing him to choke on milk multiple times; abruptly pulling the baby out of a rocker; and allowing him to sit upright on a chair despite his spine not being fully developed.

“Can you absorb what people say, as well as what doctors and confinement nannies teach, instead of insisting on doing things your own way just because you think it’s fine?

“He’s your son, not your toy! Can we even have a proper conversation anymore?” she lamented, as quoted by news portal 8days.

Lin – who’s nine years younger than Lee – shared that within a week of their confinement nanny’s absence, she has been struggling with back pain, weight loss and insomnia.

She uploaded CCTV footage of their baby boy in his crib, claiming that he had trouble breathing after Lee ignored her warning not to place pillows over their son’s hands.

In the footage, Ellison’s hand can be seen moving, causing the pillow to slip and nearly cover his face – posing a serious risk of suffocation.

“Don’t cover the baby’s hands! It doesn’t matter if it’s with a quilt or a small pillow! I’ve told my husband this countless times!

“I walked into the room and found my son struggling to breathe! I’m so mad I could explode! Even making you sleep on durian shells wouldn’t ease my anger!” she wrote.

Lin also urged new fathers not to blindly follow online parenting videos or improvise on their own, as such actions could unintentionally put their babies in danger.

For the record, Lee – who's born in Taiwan – married Lin in 2020. The latter was six months pregnant when she suffered a miscarriage that same year.
