Hong Kong actress Lana Wong, who will turn 95 on Nov 11, recently hosted an early birthday party to mark the occasion.

During the banquet on Oct 11, Wong – who once dated late lawyer Woo Pak-chuen – revealed her wish to reclaim the inheritance he had reportedly left behind for her – said to be worth over HK$30mil (RM16.3mil).

The actress said she would be visiting Hong Kong’s Legal Aid Department to handle the matter, explaining: “The agency will run an investigation. Since 12 years have passed, there’s no need for a lawsuit.”

When asked if she was worried that Wu’s children might contest her claim, Wong – who's now married to former racer Albert Poon – replied in the negative.

The Year Of Chameleon (1997) star added that she expects to receive the inheritance within the next few months and plans to use the funds to build a nursing home next to a Buddhist temple.

“The land has already been acquired, but the nursing home has yet to be built. Next to it is a Bhuddist temple. What’s missing is the construction of a Guanyin statue.

“Once I receive the inheritance, I’ll donate the money to my own charity foundation,” she said.

Wong also assured everyone that she's financially stable.
